Does Your Car Need a Tune Up?

Getting a tune-up for your car now may save you a big headache, and money, in the future. By paying attention to your car you may be able to catch small problems before they turn into big ones. Tune-up intervals vary from car to car, but there are some surefire signs your car will give off to let you know it's time for a tune-up.

  • Your car stalls often. This could be a sign that the spark plugs are worn or fouled. If you've noticed that your car's fuel economy has decreased, this could be the reason why.
  • Issues with your brakes. This is something to take seriously, because brakes are important to the safety of your car. Any unusual noises such as scraping or whining are signs that your brakes are failing.
  • Your car struggles to accelerate. If your car sputters or stalls while accelerating that is a red flag that it needs a tune-up. This is usually due to a buildup of dirt or grime on a part of your emissions control system.
