2021 Mazda CX-5

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 is available in seven trim levels: Sport, Touring, Carbon Edition, Carbon Edition Turbo, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature. Standard exterior features on the CX-5 include LED headlights with auto on/off, high beam control, daytime running lights, automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers, and body-color or black power side mirrors with LED turn signal indicators. Higher trim levels come with additional features, such as LED fog lights, an adaptive front-lighting system, a windshield wiper de-icer, and automatic folding mirrors.

The base engine that comes standard on most trim levels is the SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, which produces 187 horsepower. The Carbon Edition Turbo, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature trims feature a more powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which cranks out 227 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission, which features manual and Sport shifting modes.

Most trim levels on the 2021 CX-5 offer front-wheel drive or i-ACTIV all-wheel drive with off-road traction assist, but the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trims are only equipped with all-wheel drive. With front-wheel drive and the base engine, the CX-5 gets 25 mpg around town and 31 mpg on the highway, while the turbocharged engine gets 23 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

The 2021 CX-5 features a stylish and high-tech interior, so you'll feel classy, comfortable, and connected on every drive. The five-passenger SUV comes standard with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 40/20/40 one-touch split-folding and reclining rear seatback, a 10.25-inch full-color touch-screen display, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, two front USB ports, and an auxiliary audio input jack. Higher trim levels come with two USB ports in the rear. Depending on the trim level, the CX-5 seats are outfitted with cloth trim, leatherette with Lux Suede inserts, leather trim, or Caturra Brown Nappa leather trim. Higher trim levels come standard with heated and ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The two Carbon Edition trim levels feature red stitching on the steering wheel and gear selector and black interior and door panel trim. The CX-5 can hold 30.9 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seatback up and 59.6 cubic feet with the seatback folded down. The higher trim levels even come with a power liftgate with programmable height adjustment to make loading your cargo that much easier.

All 2021 CX-5 trim levels come with several standard safety features, such as blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, advanced Smart City Brake Support with pedestrian detection, Smart Brake Support with collision warning, a lane departure warning system with lane-keep assist, Mazda radar cruise control with stop-and-go, hill launch assist, and a rearview camera. The Signature trim further features front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree-view monitor, driver attention alert, and Smart City Brake Support reverse.
