Under the hood of the Mazda3 2.0 sedan is a responsive and economical 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. The Mazda3 2.5 S features a refined 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. In the Mazda3 2.5 turbo, the 2.5-liter engine is turbocharged to make 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque with premium gas. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, although a six-speed manual is an option for the 2.5 S hatchback with the Premium Package.

Front-wheel drive is standard on most Mazda3 trims, while the Preferred and Premium packages offer the option of the i-Activ AWD system that comes standard on the 2.5 Turbo models. The Mazda3 is easy to maneuver around town, and its nimble handling and scintillating performance make it fun to drive on the open highway and twisting back roads. The Preferred Package adds a power driver's seat and heated front seats, while the Premium Package features paddle shifters, a head-up display, navigation, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. With the Carbon Edition, you get unique interior trim and red leather upholstery. The top-of-the-line 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus has perforated leather upholstery and a heated steering wheel.
