Tires are a part of your car that it’s easy to overlook. Many drivers don’t think about their tires as often as they should, and unfortunately, this can result in a blowout. As your Mazda dealer, we value your safety and we’d like you to know the signs that you may need new tires.4 tires

5 Signs It’s Time for New Tires From Your Mazda Dealer

Bald Tires

The tread on your tires is vital to maintain safe traction on the road, especially under rainy or snow conditions. As tires move, they generate friction with the surface, and this friction causes them to slowly wear down. For your safety, it’s very important to monitor your tire tread. Bald tires have worn down so much that they no longer have any tread at all.

Driving with bald tires is extremely dangerous, as your ability to corner and brake are severely restricted. If you have a bald tire, we recommend that it be changed immediately to keep you and your car safe.

Tread-Life Warranty Is Up

Tires often come with a tread-wear warranty, which guarantees your tires for a limited mileage or number of years. Once your warranty is up, it’s advisable to replace your tires even if the tread still looks in good condition. The manufacturers designed and built these tires for the maximum possible safety, and beyond that date, your tires should, at the minimum, be examined by qualified experts. Our technicians will inspect your tires, and we will advise if they should be replaced.

Air Leak In the Tire

Even a small air leak in a tire can quickly become a serious problem. As your car drives, the hole in the tire will grow bigger, and even more, air will be lost. A drop in tire pressure does not necessarily mean that your tire is damaged, as it is normal for tires to drop approximately one inch of pressure per square inch each week. We do advise feeling your tires regularly to check their shape and condition and to contact us if you find any serious changes.

Your Car Shakes

If you travel over rough terrain, this would not be cause for concern due to the uneven terrain. A car that shakes regardless of terrain, however, is a cause for concern. It’s possible that the interior of one or more of your tires has been damaged, or that the alignment or balance needs to be corrected. Our technicians can realign or rebalance your tires if that is causing the problem, or we can replace your tires if they have been damaged.

If your tires show signs of wear, or you experience any of the issues above, call our service department immediately at Mazda City of Orange Park.
