When you purchase a new Mazda, setting up the tech gives you access to important functions and alerts. Our Mazda Connect guide will help you make the most of your new vehicle’s infotainment system.

Mazda Connect Guide: How to Use Your Vehicle’s Infotainment System

Pairing Your Device With Bluetooth

Link your smartphone with Mazda Connect to safely make and receive calls and messages with voice commands. Bluetooth also allows you to stream audio from your device. First, make sure your phone currently has Bluetooth enabled. Select Settings from the Mazda Connect home screen and choose Connectivity Settings, then Bluetooth Settings. Next, choose Pair New Device. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

Checking Vehicle Health

You can review the current health status of your Mazda and receive reminders about scheduled maintenance. An on-screen Owner’s Manual allows you to look up more than 200 different warning lights if they illuminate on your dash.

The Mazda Connect system will also alert you when your vehicle needs an oil change, tire rotation, or any other key service. It also incorporates a fuel monitor that shows you how your driving behavior and other factors affect your vehicle’s efficiency. The integrated i-DM system can assess your driving abilities and provides teaching reminders designed to improve safety and stability.

Navigating to Your Destination

You can find the best route with three easy ways to search on Mazda Connect. From the infotainment home screen, press the Map button to get started. If you listed the destination as a Favorite, you can find it on the Favorites menu, where you can store up to 50 locations.

You can also look for the right spot from a list of possibilities. For example, search “coffee shops near me” and select your choice from the resulting list to start navigation. To use voice search, press the Talk button on the steering wheel and say “address search.” Then follow the prompts to find your destination.

Selecting an Audio Source

Set the right source for your audio for seamless podcasts and playlists on the road. From the Mazda Connect home screen, choose Entertainment, then Source List. The screen will show a list of available options such as USB multimedia, Bluetooth streaming audio, Pandora internet radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, and AM/FM radio.

Learning Voice Commands

Hands-free interaction is easy with the Mazda Connect voice command system. Some of the commands you can use include “Call Back,” “Redial,” “Browse Playlist,” and “Go to [App]”.
